Monster "Simuls"

Koltanowski took on 110 opponents simultaneously in Los Angeles recently. The result is not quoted, but it is announced that he took twelve hours and ten minutes, from Sunday afternoon to the early hours of Monday morning. He took no nourishment throughout. The American Chess Bulletin recalls that Frank Marshall took on 155 opponents at Montreal in 1915. The British record is B.H. Wood's 127 at Ilford in 1941.

At Hollywood in the same year, Herman Steiner took on 400 opponents on 100 boards.
